I don't think you can compare his time with Neagle to his time with Martins. Also, Neagle plays more like a midfielder when he's up top, and Martins is very definitely a forward, and a much different forward than Fredy Montero. Two totally different roles and types of players.

Im not going to fault EJ for making a supporting run to open space for Neagle. I thought he played very unselfishly and iirc he played a part in both neagle goals. It seems to me that EJ and Neagle click. Ej does not seem to get as frustrated with Neagle. Still savoring the victory.

I had the same issue with him during the game, but I'll have to say that ball he sent to Mauro for the first LFN goal was an absolute beauty.

I didn't see a folder for the U.S. National team tickets so I thought it would be appropriate to post here.

There were a number of times during the SJ game that I yelled "Where are you running Eddie?" I specifically remember one in each half both on the left side where he dropped if off to I think Neagle... one he cut in front and the other he circled around to get to the corner. Isn't he the striker and his job is to score goals? Why the hell when the ball is already wide is he running wider.... run to the fricken goal post. I know he loves doing step overs... but anyone can do them against a FB in the corner... you are a real man if you can do it in middle taking on a CB.

Please, please, PLEASE not Estrada. Not in a starting role. I like him as a late game sub, as he can continue to harry a tired defense, but not out of the gate.

I worry a little about EJ and Oba gelling. But we haven't really had much of an opportunity to see them together. But EJ's national team call ups will provide the control for this experiment. We should have a couple of games where Oba can start with Neagle or Estrada. If Oba happens to click with those players faster or better than he does with EJ, then I guess we'll know where the problem lies.

Ha! Don't get me wrong Knuckles. I am not advocating Scott to start by any means. He has avoided major faux pas' in his past two games, however. The biggest thing Zach has going for him is his heart. He doesn't quit. He'll bust his balls when given an opportunity. Sometimes his efforts are really bad, but Saturday he didn't suck.

KFox, perhaps EJ and Martins need to gel, or bond, or be roomies or something. I would love to see them be lethal together. But right now, I think EJ feels a bit threatened. Just a guess, but he sure seemed to avoid the best pass on several occasions for a safer, less dangerous one. EJ is his own worst enemy in my opinion. You are right about his heading prowess though.

What Toja said, although I disagree about ZS. Traore was a beast, Scott was lucky that SJ was just slow. Cato or Fucito would have given him fits. Neagle needs to start. He's a terror to every team's back line, his shots are filthy, and he pairs well with Martins. Rosales has been a monster this year. I take back every sad "Man, he's just lost it" statement I've made about him. Without him, our midfield is shit.
