Chivas USA Vice President discussing releasing Martín Vásquez
On Wednesday, Chivas USA said goodbye to Head Coach Martín Vásquez, relieving him of his duties after one challenging season in charge of the Red-and-White. Though the team’s final record of 8-18-4 in MLS action shows how tough a year it was for Vásquez and Chivas USA, it was a difficult choice for the team’s management to make.

Impressive to think they can afford Ronaldinho, Donovan, Beckham, and Buddle. Maybe they are planning to lose one or maybe two of the others.

Guillermo Barros Schelotto Likely Done With Columbus Crew After Option Declined The 37 year-old midfielder's contract option will reportedly not be picked up. Veteran defender Frankie Hejduk is also likely on the way out. http://www.goal.com/en-us/news/1110/majo....h-columbus-crew
Would the Sounders be interested in his game in the middle?

Some soccer players have a personal trainer or a nutritionist. Nate Jaqua brings a cut man, so ya'll best be ready! 108Ultra |

When you willfully exclude everything before 1996 from your sense of American soccer history, you don't have enough history to go around. Of course, MLS fans have their own stories and heroes: Brian McBride in Chicago, say, or Ben Olsen at D.C. United. What's missing is a sense from the league that soccer has deep roots in the United States, that the game is a constituent part of the national sports psyche rather than some alien import that crashed here to annoy Jim Rome.
