Seriously. Good enough for what might be the richest athlete on the richest team in the world.

While likely true, also quite a tangent.

True, maybe your underestimating how rich Freddie Ljungberg is though, back off the tangent.
He played top flight EPL football for 10 years! That is alot of money, not including his Seattle Salary

Agreed. Plus, when did the Steinbrenner's become multi-Billionaires? Richest athlete on the richest pro sports team? MCFC is the richest team, and Tiger is the richest athlete; a-roid isn't even in the top ten. There are F1 drivers who make more than he does.

Talked to a Sounders player today after practice, he said Ljungberg looked great! And should be ready to go for March 19th. Seems like Seba or Sanna would sit for Freddie, thoughts?

First, great news!

Second...hmm. Tough call. I doubt he'd play the full 90, so do you start him or bring him (Ljungberg) in later?

If Freddie plays attacking CM, then he wouldn't be pushing either Seba or Sanna out of a position. He'd be pushing either Evans or Osvaldo out, in my figuring.

My reasoning is Sigi's preference for the 4-3-3 and the attacking options we have. Montero plays better running off a post forward like Jaqua. But we've got Ljungberg at attacking mid, so we can't put Montero there, unless.....

Nyassi-------------Jaqua----------Le Toux

---------Ljungberg---Montero--------

--------------holding mid---------------

-----------------defense----------------

This gets both Montero and Ljungberg running off Jaqua, creating plays, and distributing the ball to our wingers. I sure wouldn't want to be the backline that gets to face Fredy and Freddie running straight at you.....

In which case...keep Evans and bench Osvaldo until about the 65th. If we are ahead, then he's in for Ljungberg.

Apples and oranges regarding richest team and richest player. Understand, the Yankees are moving into a new stadium that is only going to increase what the Yankees are worth. They are in the top 5 teams in the world as far as what a franchise is worth. One year it might be Man U, another year it may be another team, but it usually is the same franchises that are in the top 5.

Regarding ARod, he just might be the player that makes more than any other player for what he does on the field. He has made about 25 million per year for the last 10 years for his on field play. Tiger doesn't make as much as ARod just on a golf course, he does make more when you add in his off the course income.

ARod makes over 25 million this year, Freddy L. is making just over a million this year, so don't compare the two money wise and I am glad about that. Freddy L. sounds like he is a much better person than ARod ever was.

Don Ruiz talks with Freddie L after today's practice at Qwest Field.

Aside: Are we seriously going to have to worry about *snow* for March 19th?
