And I don't think its been mentioned... our goals were SWEET! Both of them could win for GOTW if they counted. King's shot had some WICKED speed and bend, and Rogers... how sweet to score in the first minute of play against the Timbers? Just awesome.

Well Sanni was having a great game. Was he really hurt? they did end up subbing him. It was a bit odd. Boy the Timber Keeper was livid about that. I don't really agree with the time wasting, ... but if he was really injured...

It's weird isn't it, When we played LA at home I was livid when Ricketts went down to kill some time. But last night when we're under pressure, I'm like "atta boy, let's slow this down a bit"

So honestly i'm a bit of hypocrite, or maybe i'm just a fan, but still, seeing Cronin throw a temper tantrum waving his arms and screaming all over the place was one of the funnies things ever.

I agree with you in regard to the time wasting. A bit of a hypocrite myself, as I laughed last weekend when I saw Keller keep telling the ball boy to slow down on getting him the ball for a goal kick.

However, there is a difference in my mind in time wasting with the lead and time wasting while tied. I would not be happy with our own players for wasting time while we are tied, even if it is away, as I want to win every game. I think that is what drove me crazy in the Galaxy game as well as the DC United game. It seemed like both teams were happy to leave Qwest with a point, so they were stalling in hopes of a tie, which I can't stand.

First off, great game, and atmosphere. I would be lying if I said the first Sounders goal didn't put us in absolute utter shock, and really changed the tempo of the entire game. The FO capped the game at 17k, and if they didn't, attendance would have been 20k.

On a note of fan behavior, we were given explicit, and I mean explicit instructions from the FO, Merritt, and many other Timbers staff to keep it civil. With that, many of the TA got that message, and really focused on keeping things under control. Our MLS deal is still not certain, and we all know that. The Sounder fans were treated extremely well, but it's not like we had a choice. A riot, or big fight breaking out would have made headlines in Portland, and would have destroyed our MLS deal. Am I saying it should always be this way? Well sure. But I am a realist, and with a rivalry like this, it can obviously get very heated. I had to restrain my two buddies, literally, after Sounder fans talked mad shit to right to their faces. I had to quickly grab both their shirts, then their necks. In the future will I have such urgency to restrain them? Who knows? I am one for, if you talk, back it up. But I knew I had to do it that day, and so did the rest of the TA. Sounder fans were treated golden yesterday, but for a reason.

However, it was great to see the support for both sides, I have a feeling when Portland enters MLS, it will make for even more amazing games.

That is IF you get an MLS team.
Feel free to come up and watch us PLAY against KC in the quarterfinals.

Well its clear that they are only focused on hating Seattle. I love the fact that we went to their rickety old house, wore our home colors and out classed them on the pitch and in the stands. Lets all pray (if your into that kinda stuff) for a solution to the PGE deal down there because that kind of atmosphere will capture this country. That game was a glimpse of the future of MLS and a sign of its true coming out party.
Imagine first Kick 2011 Cinders vs Sounders in the Newly renovated PGE park. That would be truly epic. And while we hate P*rstcum and TA, we need them in out league to show the world that soccer in America is legit.

F*ck P*rtscum! Go Sounders!!

Didn't they say on TV last night that they'd approved a $30m renovation? Or did I dream that?

First of all, We won, I mean I can't not mention that to you right?

Secondly I hate you, but it's a love-hate type of thing, I wish we could skip 2010 because last night made me realize that things are just more exciting when we have you guys to hate on, beat on, and have a team that isn't a 17hr away trip.

I will say your players played well, all things considered. And while there would have been 20 at PGE there would have been 32 at Qwest. :)

Of course this is all in good fun, thanks for not talking too much shit on our board and at least being semi-respectful.

I don't even want to comment on you basically saying it took all your energy not to resort to violence :) .....thug

Here's to the open cup next year, right? (where we end your dreams again)

And yes, the MLS and American Footie in General need more rivalries like this, however I don't think anything will ever come close to the size of this one. (especially when you ad in the Whitecraps)

Never mind. Must have dreamed it. Here's the current situation:

The Timbers, owned by Merritt Paulson, will keep their name and their colors when they make the leap. Their home, PGE Park, must be remodeled to meet MLS specifications.

The Triple-A Portland Beavers baseball team, who are also owned by Paulson and play at PGE Park, will have to find a new home. Two proposals — one of which would have put a new Beavers' stadium adjacent to the Rose Garden where the NBA's Trail Blazers play — have been shot down.

City officials who have signed off on the MLS deal are still discussing how to fund Portland's portion of the costs involved.

Paulson, the son of former Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, must have a signed financing deal with the city to renovate PGE Park by Sept. 1 to secure the MLS franchise.

Yes, the Sounders won. I honestly think it was a pretty even match, and you weren't that much better than us. You got a quick goal, that of course made us play from behind the entire game. Once again, the goal was just a shock to us, it was like a bad dream. One minute in? Are you fucking kidding me? But whatever, it is what it is.

The TA was policing each other very closely. I guess a few instances came up where some historically very hot headed TA members were getting smack, but just walked away. This is probably the best behaved game you'll ever see the TA, and the ECS being ushered and escorted at seperate entrances is a must, and I am glad it happened.

It was pretty even, especially in the second half. And yes the 2 entrances seemed to have worked out very well.

I thought the Sounders were substantially better. That's the difference between the leagues. More skilled finishers in MLS.

It could have easily been 3-1, 4-1, etc. Portland with only four shots on goal.

Should have been 3-1 for sure. Jaqua was onside. At least, FSN couldn't find a replay to prove otherwise....
