News? From that website. I think I'll wait until an actual news service picks up.

Yeah, I saw this too somewhere else but it seems a bit odd--filed just before the 2 year statute of limitations expired.

First person to make light of this and mention 'how well Nate and Fredy seem to be working together lately' gets an instant smite.
Oh, wait...

The writing of the article is 5th-grade level at best. Dare I say, it is Timbers Army-level writing at best.
The timing is too funny

First, you're right. I'm not believing it until its confirmed by an official source. Just thought I'd put it out there. I think this story carries the same or less weight than Freddy's. I just hope we don't see Nate slump like Freddy did just when he's heating up.

Is there any way to prove any of that 2 years later?

It sounds absolutly rediculous. Ive also never known a "news" story to go into such details as to what did or did not happen.
Personally I think this is TA pissed we took over their house, roger scored, and we won on their crappy turf.

first you said 5th grade level, then you said TA level, which one is it? I mean let's give the 5th graders a little respect here.
Secondly I have a feeling the only thing Jaqua abused was the Rapids back line...am I right or am I right?
I guess we'll see though.

We can't really discount the 'news service' here because a civil complaint was filed. You can read the complaint in pdf form using the link on the news service bulletin.
It's interesting to me that this is a civil complaint and not a criminal investigation. If I had to guess, there probably was a criminal investigation closer to the time of the alleged assault, but it obviously didn't amount to charges being filed.
Also of note - the suit actually seeks to hold both Jaqua and MLS liable under a theory of vicarious liability. The plaintiff is seeking $5 million in damages from both. This is a pretty dubious legal claim IMHO; employers are only vicariously liable when the employee was acting within the scope of employment. There's very little indication that he was in Eugene at the direction of MLS in the complaint. Additionally, the plaintiff would have to prove that Jaqua walking the girl home was only a minor and reasonable deviation from his assigned task. So, at any rate, I don't see MLS being liable for anything. But I expect they will "lawyer up" and send some big money attorneys on their behalf.

civil complaints are lies to make money. if a person can't prove a crime in court they file a civil complaint to destroy someones reputation and try to get money for nothing. I hope Nate fights this and doesn't give into the "settlement" payment this dirtbag lawyer has ready to cash in on.

I really doubt this person can prove anything especially 2 years ago. Even if they could i doubt a Judge would award 10m dollars.

Again, people, it's good to be supportive of your team, and we all hope (or assume) this isn't true. But the best response is silence. Back with the Montero stuff, much of what got said was in really bad taste, Montero's innocence notwithstanding. Let's please just leave this one alone...
