Technically it is the SCCA (Seattle Cancer Care Alliance). Fred Hutch used to take patients, but then the SCCA was setup as an alliance between FH, UW and Childrens. Patients go there now. Not that anybody cares or that this has anything to do with soccer... But you asked...
Back to the interview... I like FL more and more. At first, I wasn't really sure about him. Seemed he might be in it for the money or to prove something to people back in Europe who thought he might be washed up or whatever. As time goes on, he seems to really be committed to taking this "project" on of not only playing but also growing the league. You gotta love a guy who goes out and does that without talking about it compared to others who might talk about it but whose actions speak louder than words.
The other comment I'll make is about how every national media (and now an international player) talks about how "knowledgeable" fans are in Seattle; how we know when to clap and what's a good play vs. bad play, etc. Each time someone says this, my first reaction is, well, duh. But my second, more lasting reaction is, how UN-knowledgeable are fans in other American cities?! Is it really that bad out there? Are the stands in KC or Dallas or wherever really filled with a bunch of soccer moms and 8 year old girls who cheer when the goalie kicks it "really far?" Is it really that bad out there? I thought that was just a stereotype; that fans in other cities were pretty knowledgeable too. But why do all these national people keep saying it?

I thought this was possibly Ljungberg's best game of the year. His passing was spot on and he had a number of good defensive plays.
I am surprised Beckham didn't ask to play for Everton.

I'll only say on this front that I strongly.....STRONGLY disagree with you. I can absolutely understand why the LARS are disgusted with him. They really did well to stand up for the little guy (us MLS fans).

i 100% empathize with the migraines issue. unless you've had them, you can't really understand what it does. these aren't like the bad headaches you got growing up, either. i have this issue to, mine comes with memory loss of what happened during the migraine. it sucks.
feel for freddie, but hope he can keep them under control well enough.
didn't watch the game live, but recorded it on the DVR. will watch tonight.

I'd be fine with what he's done if he just came out and said that he loves playing for the Galaxy but there are some things that are more important to him like representing his country and there are certain things he has to do to obtain that goal.

the only problem with that is he came to LA on his own accord. they threw money at him and he took it. which means he should honor that.
i understand the representing one's country bit, but he's done that his whole career. if you accept a huge payment and sign a contract to play somewhere, honor it.
that's my beef - just the principle of the thing. although i will say i don't hate the player, just lost a little respect for him based on principle, that's all. i most certainly will not be making comments about his wife or setting up some huge pyre at a game about him. some people take it way too far

finally just watched the all-star game. man, last kick of the game aside, Ljungberg was tearing it up all game! That pass to Donovan that went off the side bar was excellent!
watching this game was like watching a sounders game.... a lot of missed opportunities
you can tell that one of the teams plays together and the other doesn't, though, since there was poor passing/communication on the MLS all-star team. not making excuses, Everton played better and deserved to win. But there was an obvious disconnect on the MLS side.
PS - Blanco still sucks. he did though during the game, i didn't see much good out of him.

So what's the deal with Freddie's suspension? Didn't it say in the SSFC "News & Notes" publication for this week that he's out for the next TWO MLS matches?
So that means he can play against Barca, but has to sit for the SJ and RSL matches? That's a pretty significant penalty considering how weak that red card was.
Two away matches in the middle of a playoff race isn't exactly good timing to be missing your DP attacking mid.

According to MLS discipline he's out for SJ due to the red and his yellow card count remains at 4. I guess if you get your 5th and a red the same game the Red trumps the 5th yellow.

Does that mean they also take one away for good behavior? He's had 4 for at least 3 games I think.
